A clause in a SQL statement that defines how records from two tables are combined when being retrieved. Join types include inner, outer, left, right, cross, and unequal. Left and right joins are sub-types of an outer join.
A functional table used to join two tables in a many-to-many relationship; the junction table will have a one-to-many relationship with each of the original two tables. Also known as a crosswalk, a bridge table, or a join table.
